What You'll Learn

This course brings “Take Home Naloxone” training to a new level. Each participant will perform simulated injections using similar equipment available through the “Take Home Naloxone” kits. It uses life-like training aids in various scenarios to ensure participants leave feeling confident and capable of intervening in an Opioid Overdose.

Participants will be guided through:

  • Introduction to Opioids

  • Administering Naloxone

  • Emergency Scene Management

  • Artificial Respiration

  • Artificial Respiration and Naloxone

  • Ongoing Care

  • Complications​

WHO IS PROVIDING THE TRAINING?

Professional Instructors that have been trained in muscle injection.

ARE THERE ANY PRE-REQUISITES TO TAKING THIS COURSE?

No. The Opioid Overdose Response Training courses were created to train people with all levels of first aid training and experience.


DO WE GET ANY CERTIFICATION FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE?

Yes, all the students get an electronic participation certificate at the end of the course. Please note students will receive their electronic survey 3 - 5 business days following course completion. 

 

WILL I BE CPR CERTIFIED AFTER THIS COURSE? 

No, this course offers a completion certificate. For those looking to become CPR certified, please visit www.sja.ca
